Insurance panel contractors: what Omni Field does and does not do
Omni Field runs the job side of insurance panel work: a job per claim with photos, a signed job card, a quote and a VAT invoice referencing the claim number. It does not parse insurer dispatch emails, keep per-insurer service level timers or format invoices to a panel's specification. Contractors whose work is mostly panel work should weigh that first.

The honest version first
Insurer panel work has a workflow of its own: a dispatch email from the insurer or its administrator, a response window measured against a service level agreement, a quote in the insurer's format, and an invoice that has to match the claim exactly. Omni Field does not read those emails, does not run per-insurer timers and does not produce panel-specific invoice formats. A contractor whose revenue is mostly panel work is better served by software built for that channel, and the comparison page for one such vendor says so.
What it does well for the panel work you do handle
Each claim is a job with the claim number on it, the policyholder as the customer and the insurer or administrator as the account to invoice. The technician completes the job card on site with before and after photos, the parts used and the policyholder's signature; the quote and the VAT invoice reference the claim number; and the job report with its photos goes to the assessor by email. Service level monitoring on jobs exists on Growth, as a general response-time monitor rather than a per-insurer rulebook.
Where the geyser work fits
Most panel plumbing in South Africa is geyser replacement, and the paperwork that matters is the PIRB certificate of compliance, the photos, and an invoice the insurer will pay. Omni Field produces documents from templates, keeps the COC and the photos with the job, tracks the plumber's registration expiry, and invoices with VAT shown; the compliance guide on plumbing COCs sets out the requirement with its source.
A sensible way to use it
Contractors with a mix of private and panel work run everything in Omni Field, treat each insurer as a customer account with its own invoices and statement, and keep the panel-specific portals for what only they can do. Contractors who are mostly panel work should evaluate the specialist software first and use this page as the honest comparison.
