Job card app for Android and iPhone

The Omni Field job card app runs on Android and iPhone as an installable web app. Technicians see their day, open a job card, add photos and notes, tick tasks, record parts and time, collect a signature and invoice on site. Work captured without signal is held in a sync queue and sent when the connection returns.

One app for both phones, installed from a link

The app is a progressive web app, which means it installs from the invitation link on Android and on iPhone without an app store, updates itself, and runs the same on both. A technician invited from Settings receives the link, installs the app to the home screen and signs in. There is no separate build to maintain for either platform and nothing to sideload.

What a technician does in it

The day view lists the jobs assigned to that technician in order, with the customer, the site and directions. Opening a job shows the tasks, the notes from the office, the parts expected and the history at that site. As the work happens the technician adds photos, ticks tasks, records parts used and time on site, and collects the customer's signature. If the office has enabled it, the technician can raise the invoice from the card and send a payment link before leaving.

Clock-in and clock-out from the app are checked against the site geofence, so a clock-in from the wrong place is flagged for the office rather than silently accepted or automatically triggered.

When the signal drops

Everything captured on the card is held on the phone in a sync queue and sent when the connection returns. That covers basements, plant rooms, rural sites and the hours of load shedding when a tower is down. It does not cover fetching new jobs or sending customer messages while disconnected; those wait for the connection. The honest description is offline tolerant, not fully offline, and the difference matters when you plan a day.

What the office sees

Each card the technician completes appears in the office view with its photos, signature and time entries, feeds the invoice, and updates the schedule. On Growth, and as an add-on on PaYu, live GPS positions and geofence arrival and departure alerts show where each technician is during the day.
